Clean Like the Pros: Why Use Microfiber

Updated: Mar 17, 2021

Cleaning Pros consider microfiber cloths, towels, and mop heads an essential necessity in cleaning supplies. We think once you realize why and how to use them, you’ll love them, too.

Ultra absorbent & antibacterial

Microfiber’s super power is found in its ultra thin synthetic “microfibers” which are about one-fifth the width of a human hair. Some cleaning microfiber towels have split fibers, up to 200 times thinner than a human hair!

The fibers are also naturally statically charged, so they attract dirt, pet hair, dust and other microparticles like a magnet, including 99% of all bacteria particles--while the tiny fibers hold it within the towel. (By contrast, cotton fibers do not come anywhere close to doing this.) Because of their ultra ability to hold on to dirt, they should be washed after each use.

Durable, reusable, & lighter weight

Microfiber cloths are much longer lasting than cotton cleaning cloths. If properly cared for, they can be washed up to a thousand times before losing its effectiveness. Better for your budget and the earth.

While cotton cloth has its own virtues, the microfiber beats it out in durability and absorption (up to 7 times more absorbent than cotton). Microfibers are also lighter weight, which may not seem significant to the private user, but to the pros, using dozens of cleaning cloths per day, it makes a big difference.
